Greetings & Welcome

I'm Erica (she/her), I'm an artist, memory keeper and YouTuber. The Nerd Journals came into fruition several years ago as a place for me to talk about notebooks; over time it has evolved into an art collective, of sorts.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How long have you been journaling?

I started journaling around thirty years ago but I wasn't really all that consistent until New Years Day 2009. In more recent years, it's rare a day passes without me working in a notebook in some way.

  2. How many journals have you filled?

As of November 2022, I have 74 filled journals. Some may argue I have less, depending how strict they are with the definition of 'journal'.

  3. How do you blur your photos/videos?

I use an Android app called Point Blur to blur my photos and I use a desktop program called Wondershare Filmora to blur my videos.

  4. How should I contact you?

The quickest and most reliable way of getting ahold of me is via email:

    thenerdjournals@gmail.com

  5. Why do you date your journal entries 12,022? What does H.E. mean?

The holocene calendar (also known as Human Era or H.E.) is a system that adds 10,000 years to what would otherwise be the current year. H.E. places its first year around the time humans changed from hunter/gatherers to agriculture lifestyles with fixed settlements as opposed to Anno Domini, when the first year was when Jesus was born. Jesus being born is less relevant to my life than the epoch of human settlements, so since learning about holocene, I've been dating my journals by adding ten thousand years.

  6. Do you want to be penpals?

No, I don't want to be penpals. However, I may be interested in doing an art swap of some sort. Probably not, money is tight. Please feel free to get in touch if you're interested in that, however. You never know.
